Budget Harps | Harps in this category have a base price under $2000. This cost may or may not include levers and a case, and does not include tax.

Chromatic Harps | Harps in this category do not have levers. They feature a double row of strings that cross over each other, and are tuned for each semitone, much like the black and white keys of a piano.

Electric Harps | Harps in this category are intended for use with amplification. Some can be used as a stand-alone acoustic harp, but they are built with a pickup already installed.

Folk Harps | Harps in this category may or may not have levers, but are specifically styled after a historical harp or have a more casual "folk" appearance.

Lever Harps | Harps in this category feature levers or blades that are used to shift a string's pitch by one semitone. These harps could look like a folk harp, electric harp or a concert harp.

Pedal Harps | Harps in this category all feature distinctive pedals that are used to shift a string's pitch by semitones. Includes both single-action and double-action pedal harps.

Travel Harps | Harps in this category will have 28 or fewer strings. These harps are generally lighter, shorter, and make great candidates for a travel companion. Some outliers may be present if they are lighter than average.

Wire Harps | Harps in this category may or may not have sharping blades, but they are all models that are or can be strung with wire.
